Lyla’s travels

Because babies love to travel too!

Kep

Posted by lyla on October 10th, 2007

Me at Knai Bang ChattWe went to Kep to attend the wedding of some friends. The wedding was at the decidedly fancy Knai Bang Chatt. Here I am fixing up some of the drapes in the massage sala.

When dad uploaded this photo, he selected “Thumbnail” under show and “File” under Link to: This means that just a small version of the photo shows up in the post, but if you click on it you get shown a big version of it. I recommend you click on it to see the big version!

Note also Dad added some Tags — this is to help people and computers figure out what this post is about.

Phnom Penh

Posted by lyla on October 7th, 2007

Phnom Penh was soooo cool. It rained heaps and our taxi almost floated away behind the Grand Palace. But our guesthouse was great and I loved going down to the waterfront each day when they let the King’s pigeons out.

Me near the Royal Palace

We would also go and see the people exercise every morning. You can see a few people working out behind me — in front of the Royal Palace.

Off to Cambodia

Posted by lyla on October 1st, 2007

In late 2007, Mum and Dad took me to Cambodia for a holiday. Daddy loves Cambodia and I thought it was pretty groovy too. You can see the map of some of where we went here.

Daddy started a new category for this trip “Cambodia Adventure” and then in the Geo Mashup section (under Options) he set a new colour to the Cambodia Adventure category — that way the line on the map is in a different colour (purple).

Then back to Jakarta

Posted by lyla on March 22nd, 2007

Daddy’s skipping the step back to Sydney here to show that you need to make a post for each anchor point on the map — he knows it’s a pain and hopes to fix it soon!

Heading to West Bali

Posted by lyla on February 14th, 2007

I told Mum and Dad that I thought Seminyak was a little drab, so we packed up again and headed out to Western Bali for a few days — it was grand!

Wet season Jakarta style

Posted by lyla on February 7th, 2007

Not long after I got to Jakarta, there were massive floods that filled up my house with water. It was really exciting and I got to see my first rats and snakes (swimming through the living room). Mum and Dad decided we’d be better off in Bali till the water went away, so we went to Bali.

My first flight

Posted by lyla on January 7th, 2007

After I was born, I hung out in Bangkok for a little while so I could see in the New Year, then my Mum, dad and I packed up and flew back to Jakarta.

I was quite excited about the flight, though when the immigration guy looked at my brand new Australian passport he commented that:

She doesn’t look much like the photo

To which I replied:

I was much younger back then
